Data list tables
The tables in which the system shows data share common functionality. The available buttons depend on the module and on the user's permissions.
Header buttons
Add – opens a screen for entering a new record.
Filter – opens a menu for choosing filter criteria. You can filter records by one or several criteria.
For example, in the task list choose "Client" from the funnel – only that client's tasks remain on the screen. Clickagain to add more criteria, for example tasks with a common tag.
Each active filter is shown as a blue chip. Remove a filter within the top-right corner of the chip. Filters of different types are combined. On some screens filters are saved and loaded automatically the next time you open the screen.
Search – the left part of the field shows the column being searched; click the name to change it. Search starts as you type (with a short delay), is case-insensitive and is combined with the selected filter.
For example, in the task list, when the field shows "Title", you see the tasks whose title contains the text you entered.Print – prints all (filtered) records, the current page or the selected records using a chosen template. A user with the appropriate permissions can create templates available to everyone.
Export – exports the data on the screen to a file. Click the button and choose the file type.
Refresh – reloads the data from the server. Useful when the data has not refreshed automatically after a change.
- Selected (x) – tables with bulk processing (for example Tasks, Clients, Engagements) have a checkbox column. When you select more than one row, a Selected (x) button appears, where x is the number of selected rows. The button opens a menu with actions for all selected records.
Settings – shows the table columns. Drag them to reorder them or to move them between visible and hidden. Some tables also allow grouping by a column.
Column headers
Click a column name to sort by it. A second click reverses the sort order, a third turns sorting off. You can sort by several columns by clicking them in the order you want.
In some tables the sorting is kept the next time you open the screen.
Table footer
The bottom-right corner shows the total number of records, how many rows are shown per page and which ones they are. Use the arrows to change pages. If there are more rows than fit on screen, scroll with the scroll bar.
In some tables the number of rows per page and the current page are kept the next time you open the screen.
Data rows
Some columns work the same way in all modules:
- # – the internal identifier of the record in the database. It uniquely identifies the record.
– selects records for printing or bulk processing.
- ☰ – a column with actions on the record. The most common buttons are:
Details – opens a dialog with the record details. You stay in the same place and, after closing it, continue working without going back or reloading.
Open – opens a separate screen for the record. To continue, go back to the list.
Actions menu – the actions you can perform on the record.
Edit – opens an edit dialog. Usually the data is reloaded after saving.
Copy – opens a dialog for creating a copy of the record, where you can change its parameters.
Delete – deletes the record.
